Blogging Dilemma

Note: Allen Heat wrote this post while waiting for World Of Warcraft general update (243 MB) , due to his temporary slow internet connection and extreme boredom, this post might seem over-invested and a very long post.

—-

I’m sure most of the constant visitors here noticed the changes in my blog, and i don’t necessarily the graphical and the new design, i meant the way the blog changed, my writing style, the things i write about, and the services i started to offer: Webhosting & Forum Consultation.

After giving it a thought yesterday, i’m wondering now that i’ve got so many things going around: is it getting too much?

I’m so happy with the activity and the comments i’m hearing, I always wanted an active blog where i write about all i want and still get a decent amount of readers, and it’s been happening lately, which gives me alot of satisfaction. But since this blog started as a personal blog that i didn’t have such expectations towards, and since now i notice such a big difference between the traffic in the latest months and between those of October, i feel kinda obligated to blog here at least once every two days, and it adds to the pressure in my time since i have another blog, two forums….and now, another two commitments: Forum consulations and forum reviews.

The underlined are all under my responsibility [note i didn’t count this blog], these responsibilities take a big amount of time off my daily free-time, and i haven’t even launched the last two features.

Am I able to handle such pressure?….time should tell, meanwhile, i’ll continue as planned, in hope that i won’t have any more crazy ideas implemented here until i arrange myself and feel comfortable with the current ones.

I’ll see you after my pc finishes the updates (that are taking so long!)

Generally Pleased

Hmm…that’s how i can sum up the last week or so in this blog, i’ve had good traffic rates, i’ve even managed to break my all times record with unique visits (Sitemeter), which reached 69 yesterday :) .

I’ve been looking for affiliation and other way to get me more traffic around here, currently working on some deals that will help me with publicity of my new features, i’ll keep you up to date.

Talking about my new features…both Forum Consultation and Forum Reviews are attracting forum admins around, i hope to start my first pilot in the coming days, and expand these features to something bigger in the future.

Though this week was one of the biggest and most exciting weeks i’ve ever had while blogging, i’ve came across some blogging dilemmas, inter alia turning this blog to fully commercial or keeping the personal trait in it. gonna talk about it in an expanded post in the following days, probably.

In the following week i’m going to lower my activity rate in a bit, i’ll try to keep it on normal, but i have important tests nowadays and don’t want any more interruptions.

See you,
A.H

Blogger Reachs 5 Figures

Nick, an owner of 5 blogs with various topics, announced lately he has finally became a 5 figure blogger….

Nick started blogging about a year ago, and followed the tips and articles of Darren Rowse, the ProBlogger, Nick Says:

  • With Darrenââ?¬â?¢s tips Iââ?¬â?¢ve taken my Google Adsense revenue to levels I never imagined making from blogs. Iââ?¬â?¢ve earned more from advertising in the past 3 months than I had in the previous 6.

  • Nick showed a chart aswell, which can be showed in his announcment post here.

Now the reason i’m writing about this is to show how blogs change lives of people, Nick was on of those lucky (and smart) people that followed the right ways, and made the right descions, and he makes quite a some out of it :) .

I’m not dreaming of getting like this, from the simple reason that i’m not blogging to earn money, it’s just some kind of bonus, but while i’m reading these stories, i decided to set myself some goals for 2006 with my own profits & try to reach them, i’ll keep you updated ;) .

    3 Months Of Free-Style Blogging

3 months passed since i first opened this blog with alot of excitement and much fewer expectations. 3 months of bits, bits from my life, my hobbies, my blogging, 3 months full of bits out of me.

I’ve passed by alot of bloggers that talked about their milestones, I’ve passed some milestones myself, and i have learned something: don’t try to describe success or failure, these two talk for themselves.

But don’t you think i’ll play the wise objective man now, i do have alot of mixed feelings about what happened int his blog in the past, and what’s hapenning now. Let’s meet halfway: go take a look at the Editors’ Pick page, or just browse the archive…and you tell me, what stimulated you to come and read this blog?

    Yours,
    A.H

    $100 Goal Reached :)

Today is a special day for me as a blogger, i’m finally past $100 with Google Adsense :D

It all started when i first heard about this program at Problogger.net, and was enthusiasted about the idea of both blogging, graphic designing and making a little bit on the side…

I applied to Adsense at the 1st of June this year, and since then i’m very satisfied with the service itself, the support and the nicely configured ads, that show ads depending on the content written in the blog/site.

Today at 3am (GMT+3) i checked the stats and it was over $100, i won’t state the exact amount, but it’s about $100 :)

I would like to thank some people here:

XPDude- The godfather of Infinity Graphic Designs, helped in developing the blog, was a major part of its’ creation, and will always be entitled with its’ success, Thank You XPDude!

Brad Purchase- Always was there to help and support through hard times, especially with his graphic designs at Infinity Gfx, Purchase is a true friend of mine, thank you :)

Infinity Guest Designers- All those who got interviewwed, all those who brought Infinity guest packs, the visitors, the supporters, thank you everyone :!:

And at last….thank you Google :)

    See you later,

The service is still in the Beta stage, so we should expect for more when its’ final.

    Infinity On High Gear

August was defintly a big disappointment in terms of blogging, eventhough in the first couple of days Infinity showed a high raise in visits, my host, my luck, wordpress problems and my laziness succeeded in making August my worst month in blogging.

After i overcame the nomerous problems that i had with the technical side of wordpress, and after changing Infinity skin color to the hyper green edition, i feel i’m ready to hit the road again :!:

During September Infinity Graphics is planning to upload at least 10 graphic design packs, in addition to that, at least one article about graphics will be written, and of course, Infinitys’ first graphics competetion in cooperation with Pink Imoen Forums…and alot of suprises!!

Yep, those are my official targets for September, alongside the adsense earnings increase, i’m hoping to have 30+ visitors average by the 1st of October…Not an easy mission, but i have reached alot more before, and i feel better than ever…

Ladies and Gentlemen, Infinity is expected to hit the road, again :!:

    Nothing goes futilely

Yesterday i wrote about Common Mistakes In Newly Created Forums which turned out to become a pretty popular post, and is still driving me traffic from different sources. :)

Yes, the topic itself is popular, but i don’t think that’s the main reason this blogs’ traffic is doubled of Infinity Graphics traffic (which is 2 months older than this one).

The key is the time and the effort i put in that post, i spent 3 hours writing that post.
Don’t misunderstand me, i’m not saying that i spent 3 hours sitting in front of the screen, writing…no, i mean that i invested three hours thinking about the clauses mentioned there, about how to phrase the article, and how not to make it look too “loaded”.

Of course, the main topic was minimizing the mistakes in forums, but bloggers have got to understand the mentality of todays’ average reader..

Read my “commandments” when aiming for the best results, the guide to the top quality post :)

    What do you look for?

Yeah i know, my latest posts were all about blogging and such, but it seems that i get more addicted to it each day, and i love writing about it.

Todays’ post is another one of a discussion, i will throw a point here, and i hope that we’ll have a prodigal discussion about it, just like we had about the other posts…

I read about 5-15 blogs daily (it varies, alot  ), and i have a reason for reading every single one of them, those vary from personal blogs, commercial ones, blogs about blogging and sometimes blogs about journeys and that stuff, i look at about 50 new (that i never read before) blogs daily, but i only read about 5-7 of them, because others don’t seem to interest me.

Here’s a list of some of my favourite blogs, each one with the reason i read it:

ProBlogger- a blog for bloggers, those who seek to become probloggers, and those who are already there and want to get better…I read this one because there’s so much to benefit from the things that are written there, and it’s one of my must-reads.

Imoen26 Livejournal- Shadow and I are very close net friends, we worked and are working together with both of our forums, Shaodws’ blog interests me because shadow puts effort in her posts, and the posts in her blog looks clean and is very interesting to read.

XPDude::Illusion- XPDude is one of my best net friends, and is certainly the one that helped me the most with technical stuff, in his blog(that contains exceptional sims 2 downloads by the way), he writes about almost everything he has to say, he’s a senior blogger (2 years) and his writing style certainly attracts my eyes, he also shares alot of details about his blog, which make me more curious.

Too Sexy For My Hair- A young womans’ struggle blog, where Lori, a cancer patient writes about her cancer struggle and everyday life, What attracts me in this blog is that Lori shares alot of deep emotions, and i’m moved by her story.

    —-

Of course those are just a tad bit of what i daily read and look at, but what i want to discuss here is the reason…for those of you who do read blogs, why do you read them? why do you come to This blog? what is the special thing about it in your point of view?

This is part of a long term project i’m working on in order to understand blogging mentality better.
