This time in Forum-Talk i’m writing about threads that make your forum more interesting place for it’s members, it’s kind of expansion to to clause 5 from “5 forum deeds for neater forums”. Another little tidy list that takes no more than 30 minutes to implement, and adds alot to your forum.

Note: this is extra threads, let alone basic & required ones.

-Funny Links: Funny Links thread can be put in the “spam” or in any other general board, it’s advised to put the links in [url=][/url] tags rather than giving direct links, encourage members to submit links aswell and add them to the growing list. you’ve got yourself a joyfull list.

-Interesting Discussions: If you have a debate or any other boards that discuss controversial issues, it’d be very recommended to add a list of the most interesting ones.(In action: MikeInside)

-History of your forum: First seen at Pink Imoen & Chocolate Insanity after 5 months of activity, should only be done after 3+ months of activity so it’s relevant to call it history.

-Current Mood: In use in almost every forum today, but can be developed to another direction, use your creativity and make your “current mood” thread the most interesting.

-Bithdays Thread: Alot of forums have these, but the bost sorting method is by month and not by name, that way members can look at the current month and see who they would like to congratulate.

-This Or That Expanded: Oh boy it was spread wide since it was first seen at SnootySims, unfortunately they only thing that was changed are the this & that, and nothing was done to enhance the thread structure. Here’s a tip: why not creating only 5 threads every week, then post the results of all the polls in one big thread, with graphs. might get interesting. (Tip brought to you by: Tech Twister)

-Quotes: Theme a quote database (witty/funny/historical) and post some, ask your members to put some more, very interesting boredom killer for those who has already scanned the whole forum.

-Profile Thread: This is actually an enhanced one, making the original introduce yourself a lot more interesting. In the profile thread members must post a 100×100 pic of them in the beginning. then write a short bio. at the end they’ll write a list of their milestones and achievement.

-[Put a thread name here]: Stop relying on me, get that thing between your shoulders to work a bit! , seriously…if we just think a bit, a tiny bit different…there are so many things we can do.
