One day break =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.comI’m invited to join a mini-seminar about human rights since i’m an active member of Amnesty’s youth network, therefore i’m announcing a little break, i should be back by Saturday, so there’ll be no updates tomorrow..and hopefully i’ll be able to update on Saturday, not sure.

You might see a new post, but you should be aware that it is a time one that was set by me before i went out of town.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to check the latest post at forum-talk, as it was posted only one hour ago.

Short term projects over long term ones

Image hosted by Photobucket.comIn this post i’m going to concentrate on a very important topic: forum projects, specifically arguing for short-run projects.

From Wikipedia:
A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service. Temporary means that the project has an end date. Unique means that the project’s end result is different than the results of other functions of the organization.

Now for forums a project can be a bit diffferent, but it’s kinda the same…an example of forum project is a contest for example.

Teens busted selling Marijuana via MMS

Image hosted by Photobucket.comSo except the fact they can cost the parents tons of money, and kids can start sending their buddies porn pictures, now they’re marketing your kid can start marketing his/her Marijuana is a very easy and smart way: Multimedia Messaging (AKA: MMS).

A youth drug dealer was arrested after he sent MMS pictures of his merchandise (including the location of the deal, by the way) to his list, which was accidentally seen by his friend’s parents, whom reported the case to the police.

SongBird: Open source version of iTunes?

Image hosted by Photobucket.comRob Lord, the leading man in SongBird’s production, comparing iTunes: “like Internet Explorer, if Internet Explorer could only browse Microsoft.com. We love Apple, and appreciate and thank them for setting the bar in terms of user experience. But it’s inevitable that the market architecture changes as it matures.”

Songbird will play iTunes songs as well as other song formats out there such as WMA to OGG. It is developed by some of the guys that helped in developing Firefox, Does that mean it’ll take as much market share from iTunes as Firefox took from IE? time should tell, looks promising so far.

Clocky: The smart (annoying) clock

Image hosted by Photobucket.com“When the alarm clock goes off and the snooze button is pressed, Clocky will fall off of the bedside table and wheel away, bumping mindlessly into objects on the floor until he eventually finds a spot to rest. Minutes later, when the alarm sounds again, the over-sleeper must get up out of bed and search for Clocky. Because you employ multiple senses to find the clock, you are sure to awake before disabling the alarm. Small wheels enable Clocky to move and reposition himself, and an internal computer helps him find a new hiding spot every day.”

Genius, yet pretty annoying. ;)

Christmas hush?

It’s a knwon thing, Christmas is probably the worst period of the year in terms of blog traffic. Alot of publishers and bloggers decide to take a vacation to forget about the stress of the updating their sites.

Today i’ve looked up the places i usually do to get my news from, and roamed around in some other resources sites, and found almost nothing interesting to put up. I also feel that today is also slow in terms of traffic, but hey…it’s christmas!

So today there will be probably no more updates here, i’m gonna take a rest from this thing for the next couple of hours (already 4 PM here) and come back in hope to find something interesting :) .

If I find something really interesting i’ll put it up, but basically i’m gonna enjoy my own christmas…i still have Kill Bill: Chapter II on my watch list…so yeah :P .

Tomorrow this blog will celebrate it’s 6 month anniversary, so expect a really interesting post :)
