Let it be, let it be something new.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comElement 2: Technically, creating forums these days is so easy, the hard part comes when you have to decide what’s in and what’s out. A post about innovation and its’ success.

Except very few forums around, my demanding brain has been starving for something new to read and discuss, something that shouldn’t be that brilliant nor a new tech-y feature that no other forums can have (though that can be nice), it just needs to be…new, and catchy.

Here i am, once again…talking about Pink Imoens’ forum, simply because it meets alot and alot(!) of the ingredients for a successful forum, here we go:

Pink Imoen reached 100 members a long time ago, to be exact: 7 months and 10 days. Now a typical admin might sit looking proudly at their forum, sure that it’ll grow to 500 in just months, and then their apathy comes back like a boomerang…the forum simply stops being active for two (main) reasons:

-No innovation: no new features, no enterprises…nothing new.

-No new members: New members often bring life to forums, or actually revive them from the death of posting :P , if potential forumers [People who surf on forums (alot)] will see new enterprises being added, they’ll think to their selves that maybe this “big” forum is actually interesting.

And so on, there are alot more reasons why enterprises and innovations can help even big forums so much, and even more reasons why their absence might kill even the big forums.

Now, back to Pink Imoen…Eventhough her forum reached 100 members 7 months ago, and currently stands on 200+, Shadow never stops finding new stuff to enchant the forum exprience. The latest were: Signature/Avatars Contests (2 in number), Button making contest and the very nice idea of Pink Imoen CafÃ?©.

Now you tell me, how can you not join this forum? and more impotantly: how can you leave this forum after you joined it? chances that you will are pretty low, and sorry to tell you…even if you do, there are dozens that will take your place! ;) (as a number of course, not as a person, and i’m talking from the static admin point of view, not as Shadow or me)

Do your forum a favour, do your senior members a favour, find something new, adopt it, invent it, enchant it, launch it, play with it, throw it after two weeks (well, not really)..just find something new and we’ll come, remmember it doesn’t have to be a grandiose project, it can be as small as a topic ;) .

Yours,
A.H

That’s what I decided to do with my forum Allen, I see too many General Chatting forums out there that all look the same…they may just a have a different theme to them but still have the same basic point to them. So I’m changing my forum completely to attract more people.

I kinda noticed that Austin, and that’s why your forum was the first i joined since my come-back to forums, and maybe even the last until now, cause it brings something new..I may not be active or coming, but that applies to all the forums since i’m so busy nowadays. :)

yeah, I understand that your busy…I’ve been busy with school lately…so I haven’t been active at a lot of forums…I’m sticking to pretty much just two.

To be just a tad bit off topic…do you have an 88x 31 button for this blog?
