Sweet November

Started as a personal and blogging crisis, November came out to be my best month in blogging in terms of activity, readership, and communication in-between this blog :) .

So yeah, i’m not even close to the same earnings i made in the past month from my ads, but i’m much much more satisfied if we’d sum up this month, especially from the communication in between this blog (comments in other words) which really made it alot more inspiring and encouraged me to write even more.

In total, i posted 13/30 Days in November, some days with more than one post, i had more comments than i ever had, and the blogs showed significant improvement in terms of incoming traffic :) .

Plans for December are simillar, although activity might decrease a bit since i have term I tests, so bear with me..Forums Talk and Blogging are still one of the main things i’ll talk about here, and of course, evey now and then i’ll bring some cool links and talk about life in general.

It’s Me, My Coke, And I.

Forums: What’s Up?

Hmmm, I took a quick glance at all of the forums i used to visit, and on those i still visit, some forums seems to be gathering dust, some are going steady, and some are blooming:

Let it be, let it be something new.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comElement 2: Technically, creating forums these days is so easy, the hard part comes when you have to decide what’s in and what’s out. A post about innovation and its’ success.

Except very few forums around, my demanding brain has been starving for something new to read and discuss, something that shouldn’t be that brilliant nor a new tech-y feature that no other forums can have (though that can be nice), it just needs to be…

Lack of cooperation between forums

Image hosted by Photobucket.comElement Number 1:Admins don’t cooperate actually in-between this community.

Disclaimer:This post contains constructive criticism towards our whole community, if you feel CC hurts your feelings, press the “X” button in the top right corner of your screen. Comments are welcomed.

Well, this is a very wide clause, but i’ll try to make it long story-short:

Except Affiliating, which is pretty limited (and transparent these days) i barely see any kind of cooperation between forums. I tried to somehow revive the cooperation spirit by opening Tech Twister which offers great plans for admins, and know why it’s not going right? there’s no cooperation, so it’s pretty much closed circuit which keeps going and going creating apathy, killing the chance for small forums to establish, and slowly biting the establishment of ones.

Now, Vice versa…

More on forums further on

I’ve just looked at my Forums/Communities Category, and realized it’s the most popular category in this blog. and since i’m obssesed with popularity (forgive my humor, inner joke ;) ) i’m going to write some kind of a series about specific and general things in hope to help small forums establish themselves and big ones keep up with their beat.

See you soon,

Ideas copied from Chocolate Insanity forum spread faster

Image hosted by Photobucket.comChocolate Insanity was one of the first forums to pop up after i opened The Sim Vibe, starting with 14 new members in their first week the forum looked promising.

I don’t know alot about the forum right now, since i barely visit any forums these days, but for me, Nick (the admin of this forum) was always a creative a guy who aspired to make his forum interesting and member appealing.

I’d talk about the forum in general, but i’d like to touch an interesting point which is unique to this forum: the ideas originally formed there are simply spreading accross other forums like hell!

Now this might sound as a compliment, and it is, but it is more of a concern for Creativity’s sake in forums, and to Nicks’ forum specifically.

Gamer Bought A Virtual Land For 100K..

just last month Project Entropia player Jon Jacobs bought a virtual space station for a mere $100,000. Jacobs plans to turn the space station into a virtual resort ground that spawns dinosaur-like monsters.

So we’ve heard about someone buying World Of Warcraft Gold and Silver for real money, we heard about someone selling pixels and making tons of money out of it, is this the next big move in this world of hallucination?

Most of you would probably think that this guy is some idiot, but…look at this, someone who paid about $25,000 for a virtual land, got his money back, and can now start making real money, real profit.

Furthermore, here are Jacobs’ plans:

Jacobs will take a cut of the virtual resources that gamers will make selling the dinosaur hides and he estimates he will make about $20,000 a month from running this virtual service.

Now what do you think of that? Stephen Glicker from Gaming Steve actually raised a good point about if Blizzard decides to do the same with WoW, he says “the future is fun”, i must agree ! :D
