Google Reader: Beta Stage

Yet another service Google offers, after google search, gmail, google earth, googlefor, comes the newly Beta tested: Google Reader!

Google reader is basically a browser-based RSS feed aggregator, which lets you keep up with the latest updates of almost anything you want to follow via the internet. The service is still under Beta stage, but from my first exprience it seems that everything works just fine, here are some of my notes & Impressions:

-The Sign up proccess is very fast, infact, you don’t need to sign up if you already have a Gmail, or any other service-registered account with google, you can just login and start using this service, i think that’s cool.

-Just like Gmail and other browser based services Google brings, it’s simply laid, sophiscticated but still easy to use, works smoothly and looks very nice.

-Subscription to feeds is very easy, it’s even easier from other regular aggregators, you can sort your subscriptions in so many ways, choose “simple” or “advanced” mode for various extra options, and of course, the well known starring feature.

-Finding feeds: Google Reader isn’t just an aggregator, it also looks up for feeds, just type the topic you’re searching for, and it’ll list you all the available sites, just like google search. after listing the sites, it’ll let you preview the feeds, which is pretty cool, and then you can subscribe easily and start to get updates on that topic from the chosen site.

-Very customizeable and easily navigated interface and functionality, which makes the subscription, searching, and reading exprience much easier and more pleasent.

Bottom Line: Personally, i love it. Professionally, i think all of you will.

Thanks to Rambaldi from Snooty Sims for finding this.
